Another day in Bella Roma!

I started out the day going to the Trevi Fountain, which was magnificant. The area of the fountain is small cobblestone streets and beautiful flowers.

I saw wonderful shops and even a cat or two! Next, I went to the Pantheon and it is an awesome building with columns and the inside has a dome to rival St. Peter's. I even laid down on the floor to photograph the ceiling for the dome.

My next stop was Piazza Navona with Bernini's Fountain of 4 rivers. This was an imposing set of statues in marble.

I had this idea that I would go to see OStia Antica, which was an old ruin on the coast and took a train for about 30 minutes, and waited for the train. When I got there, it was closed on Monday! So I waited for the train and came back to see the Baths of Caracalla and guess what? It was closed too! So I left and went to some catacombs which were cool and deep. The Christians were buried there for four floors deep. It was outstanding. The trip back was slow and finally I found my way back. It was a bit warm today. All in all it was a great day. Tomorrow is the Vatican.

Ciao,

Kerry

PS a special shout hello to the gang at Barakat and Jacobs. Love you all!
